The Sankofa Institute Global Community of Practice is a monthly gathering grounded in the philosophy of Ubuntu, honoring our shared humanity and our commitment to collective care. This space was created with a deep commitment to building a global community where recovery coaches, peer support workers, and recovery leaders from different places and cultures can come together to learn with and from one another.
We recognize that recovery does not look the same everywhere. Each community holds its own wisdom, practices, and ways of supporting healing. This Community of Practice honors those differences and invites participants to share what works within their unique cultural and social contexts. Through storytelling, reflection, and collective dialogue, we explore best practices that support recovery, resilience, and well-being.
Together, we will:
- Learn from one another across cultures and contexts
- Share practices that support recovery and mental wellbeing
- Build skills that contribute to workforce and professional development
- Explore how different communities approach healing, care, and sustainability
- Strengthen connection and collective resilience
