This specialized training is designed for those who support individuals within LGBTQIA+ communities. It invites participants to show up with cultural humility, compassion, and skill to walk alongside LGBTQIA+ individuals on their path to healing.
The training centers the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals and acknowledges the disproportionate challenges they face—including heightened rates of substance use, trauma, mental health vulnerabilities, and suicide. At the same time, it uplifts stories of joy, cultural pride, spiritual connection, and collective healing.
This track offers a grounded, compassionate, and evidence-informed approach to supporting recovery and mental wellness in LGBTQIA+ communities.

What You Will Learn

Deliver identity-affirming, trauma-informed support that centers LGBTQIA+ lived experience

Understand how intersectional oppression (racism, transphobia, homophobia) impacts recovery and mental wellness

Address trauma, shame, and internalized stigma with cultural sensitivity and care

Support individuals navigating transitions, coming out, identity shifts, and grief

Create inclusive, culturally responsive recovery and wellness plans

Become more effective allies, facilitators, and advocates in community-based recovery work
