SUMMARY:Storytelling as Practice: Our Stories Are Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Our stories are medicine. Our voices are vessels of healing. \nIn this Community of Practice\, we gather around the ancient art of storytelling — a tradition honored across indigenous cultures throughout Africa\, the Americas\, Asia\, and the Pacific. Through personal narrative and communal reflection\, we explore storytelling not as performance\, but as a pathway to wholeness and a foundation of enduring practice. \nWhether whispered\, written\, sung\, or shared\, our stories carry the wisdom of survival\, joy\, grief\, and transformation. Together\, we create space to listen deeply\, speak truth\, and explore the ways storytelling heals both the individual and the collective. \nThis session offers: \n\nGuided storytelling prompts and reflective practice\nExploration of oral traditions and their relevance to contemporary practice\nA supportive space to reclaim and honor the stories that shape our work\nCollective reflection on memory\, identity\, and truth-telling across cultures\n\nCome as you are. Leave affirmed\, witnessed\, and reminded that your voice is sacred.

SUMMARY:Beyond the Past: Neuroplasticity and the Liberating Science of Change
DESCRIPTION:This is a two-part series exploring the science of healing\, transformation\, and collective liberation.\nFor communities that have carried the weight of historical and generational trauma\, including indigenous peoples\, African and diasporic communities\, and others whose stories have been shaped by displacement\, loss\, and systemic harm\, the conversation about healing has often centered on what has been endured. This session invites a different conversation- one rooted in liberation\, possibility\, and the science of what we are capable of becoming. \nGrounded in neuroscience\, we will explore how the brain changes through practice\, connection\, and intentional healing. We will examine what neuroplasticity and epigenetics tell us about the capacity for transformation and how that science affirms what many cultures have always known about resilience\, collective care\, and the power of healing together. \nThis session is designed for mental health practitioners\, addiction recovery professionals\, advocates\, and community leaders who are ready to move the conversation from survival to liberation. \nThis session offers: \n\nAn accessible introduction to neuroplasticity and epigenetics for healing practitioners\nExploration of how collective practices — story\, ritual\, community\, and connection — support brain change and emotional freedom\nA framework for shifting the narrative from historical trauma to collective liberation\nReflective dialogue on what liberation looks like in our practice and in our communities\n\nWe are not defined by what we have carried. We are shaped by what we choose to do next.
