Peer Powered Recovery - Transforming Lives in South Africa
South Africa is facing a profound challenge with the high incidence of alcoholism and substance addiction throughout the country. At Sankofa Institute for Collective Wellbeing, we recognize the urgency of addressing this issue and providing support to those in need. Our South Africa Recovery Project is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction.
Our approach is built on the foundation of a successful peer recovery model that has demonstrated remarkable results in the United States. We believe in the power of individuals who have walked the path of recovery to guide others towards a healthier, addiction-free life.
We take a holistic and integrative approach to addiction recovery. We understand that addiction is not an isolated issue but often intertwined with factors such as poverty, mental health challenges, and past trauma. Our programs address these underlying issues to promote comprehensive healing.
Addressing Inequity: We are acutely aware of the role that inequity plays in fueling addiction and mental health issues among our youth population and adults. Through our South Africa Recovery Project, we aim to bridge these gaps and provide equitable access to addiction recovery support, regardless of socio-economic status.
Join Us in Making a Change: The South Africa Recovery Project is more than just a program; it’s a commitment to the well-being of our communities. We invite you to join us in this journey towards a South Africa where addiction is no longer a barrier to a fulfilling life.
Get Involved: If you’re passionate about making a difference and helping individuals break free from the chains of addiction, we welcome your support and involvement in the South Africa Recovery Project. Together, we can create a brighter future for South Africa.
